Meet SEJ member Wahid Bhat! Wahid is an environmental editor at Ground Report and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. His work focuses on covering environmental and climate change issues, such as extreme weather events, pollution and water. Wahid has been recognized for his work with awards from NFI India and the Thomson Reuters Foundation. His reporting has been published in Earth Journalism Network, Scroll.in, India Spend, Global Village Space, The Quint and many more. He has also received a grant from the National Foundation of India to cover rural villages of Kashmir, and The Earth Journalism Network grant to cover the impact of extreme weather events, particularly lightning strikes, in the Kashmir valley. Recently, Wahid received an investigative grant from Journalismfund Europe to explore the impact of forever chemicals in Mumbai.
