National Science-Health-Environment Reporting Fellowships
January 25, 2024 — Applications are now open for the third round of National Science-Health-Environment Reporting Fellowships (SHERF). Launched in Spring 2021, the Fellowships are a collaboration of the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing (CASW), the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) and the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ). The year-long fellowships are open to early-career US-based journalists interested in covering any or all of the three fields, providing training, networking, mentoring, new sources and story ideas, while allowing them to continue their paid work.

SEJ Partners in Mississippi River Basin Ag & Water Desk
July 31, 2023 — The Society of Environmental Journalists will partner in the expansion of the Mississippi River Basin Ag & Water Desk, along with Report for America and the University of Missouri School of Journalism. The re-upped initiative will be supported by a new $2.47 million, three-year grant from the Walton Family Foundation. Find out more and how journalists can get involved.
