Enviros File FOIA Suit for Salazar Contacts with Oil Lobbyists

July 14, 2010

After the Interior Department rebuffed a conservation group's FOIA request for records of Secretary Ken Salazar's contacts with oil lobbyists, the group has gone to court.

The Center for Biological Diversity requested the documents — emails, phone logs and meeting notes — on May 18, 2010. After receiving no response from Interior, the group filed a complaint under the Freedom of Information Act on July 12, 2010.
