Meet SEJ member Shreya Agrawal! Shreya is a climate journalist and communicator based in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2023 with degrees in geological sciences, creative writing and journalism. She served as the founder and editor of USC Annenberg Media’s Earth Desk and was a USC Annenberg Center for Climate Journalism and Communication Rural Climate Reporting Fellow at the Malheur Enterprise in southeast Oregon. She now works as an engagement coordinator for the USC Annenberg Center for Climate Journalism and Communication, is the inaugural newsroom fellow at The Xylom and writes for one5c and Sojourners. Her work has also appeared in the Los Angeles Times, CalMatters and other publications. She has appeared on CapRadio, KQED, LAist, KCBS and other stations to talk about her reporting. Shreya is also a member of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and The Uproot Project.

When asked how SEJ membership makes her job easier, Shreya said, "I love the resources and connections that SEJ provides. Anytime I run into a hurdle or can’t find a source or need guidance with a story, there is always an SEJ member there to help.
