"EPA to Regulate PFAS Effluent From Landfills, Launch Studies"

"The EPA will begin a rulemaking aiming to reduce PFAS in landfill leachate discharges and will expand or begin studies on PFAS pollution from textile manufacturers and sewage treatment plants, the agency said.

The studies and rulemaking are part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Effluent Guidelines Program Plan 15, which is updated every two years and was released Friday.

“This Effluent Guidelines Program Plan represents a critical next step to tackle pollutants like PFAS and nutrients at the source, before they can harm our health and the environment,” Radhika Fox, EPA assistant administrator for water, said in a statement."
