"Add airports to the list of climate change victims.
Eighty airports around the world could be underwater by 2100 if greenhouse gas emissions continue on their current trajectory and sea levels rise by 1 meter, according to a new analysis by the World Resources Institute.
Even if the world takes drastic action to limit warming to 2 degrees Celsius, sea levels would still rise by half a meter, putting 44 airports at risk of being flooded by 2100, the analysis found.
"Climate change is here, and climate change is going to disrupt critical infrastructure like airports," said Tina Huang, a research analyst at WRI and co-author of the analysis."
