Pipeline Spill Causes Gas Shortages And Price Increases Across Region

"Drivers are starting to see gas prices jump across the East Coast. A leak in Alabama has shut down part of an important pipeline providing gas to the Eastern US.

The Colonial Pipeline services thirteen states and runs from Texas all the way to New Jersey. It provides forty percent of all gas for the East Coast. More than a week ago a spill caused part of the pipeline to be closed, it has already spilled around 250,000 gallons of gas.

In the wake of the leak, gas prices across Tennessee are climbing and some stations are flat out of fuel."
