"Senate Approves Migratory Bird Conservation Bill"

"The Senate on Wednesday passed legislation to aid conservation efforts for migratory birds.

The bipartisan bill, H.R. 4389, passed by voice vote. It would renew the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act for another five years. The House passed the bill last week.

The legislation would fund projects in the Western Hemisphere, providing competitive grants for matters like habitat conservation and research and monitoring. It is sponsored by Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.).

The bipartisan legislation would renew a law providing grants for habitat conservation, research and monitoring."
