"Reporter Loses Suit Over Dakota Access Pipeline Protest Arrest"

"A photojournalist lost her case against North Dakota officials over her arrest while covering a Dakota Access Pipeline protest in 2017.

Tonita Cervantes sued Morton County, the city of Mandan, and members of local law enforcement, alleging she was detained with zip ties, held in county jail, and denied a phone call, the order said.

The criminal charges against her were dropped for lack of probable cause, the order said. Cervantes claimed violations of her First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendment Rights, including excessive force and unreasonable seizure, arrest, and imprisonment."
