"Louisville Gas and Electric Cited Once More for Coal Ash Violations"

"The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District has issued another notice of violation to LG&E over blowing coal ash and dust at its Cane Run power plant in western Louisville."

"District officials threatened fines of up to $10,000 per violation per day, which by my calculation could be as much as $80,000. But said they said they’d agree to the company paying $5,000, plus “additional penalties upon demonstration of compliance by July 12, or agreement to a compliance schedule.”"

James Bruggers reports for the Louisville Courier-Journal June 7, 2013.
