"The Environmental Protection Agency has put off, until the middle of next year, any decision about whether to increase the amount of ethanol allowed into the nation’s fuel.
In a letter released on Tuesday to Growth Energy, an ethanol lobby group, the agency said that more testing was necessary, but that some initial results indicate that raising the amount of ethanol blended into gasoline would be feasible for newer cars.
Growth Energy has pushed to raise the maximum amount of ethanol sold in most gasoline to 15 percent from 10 percent."
