"Having guided in the Churchill region for the past 24 years, [Kevin] Burke had seen and heard of incidents of cannibalism in the past. Like some Inuit hunters on the west coast of Hudson Bay, he doesn't think it's anything out of the ordinary.
Scientists who have been studying polar bears in the region, however, believe that this event, and seven other acts of cannibalism recorded in the area this fall, are more signs that climate change is taking its toll on the bears of western Hudson Bay."
