"Commercial-Scale Wind Farm Off New Jersey Coast Approved"

"The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management on Wednesday approved the construction of up to 98 wind turbine generators off the coast of Atlantic City, N.J., as part of a Biden administration plan to install offshore wind sites along the country’s coasts.

The Ocean Wind 1 project will be built by a subsidiary of Orsted, a Danish company. It is the third commercial-scale offshore wind project approved by the Biden administration. When completed it is expected to produce enough energy to power nearly 400,000 homes. The project will create about 3,000 jobs, the administration said.

The Ocean Wind 1 project represents a major step in President Biden’s goal of generating 30,000 megawatts from offshore wind turbines in coastal waters nationwide by 2030. It would be located 13 nautical miles from Atlantic City."
