DEADLINE: SJN/EJC European Media Leaders Climate Solutions Fellowship

October 6, 2024

Are you an editorial leader in Europe looking to transform climate change coverage in your newsroom? The Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) and the European Journalism Centre (EJC) invite 12 forward-thinking media leaders to join our new fellowship programme aimed at revolutionising how climate issues are reported across Europe.

This 10-month, fully funded fellowship will equip editorial leaders with the tools, knowledge, and support to become climate solutions journalism champions within their news organisations. By focusing on solutions journalism, fellows will learn to highlight actionable responses to climate challenges, driving a sense of collective empowerment and achieving positive change.

Fellows will receive:

  • Expert training: Monthly online meetings providing access to leading media and climate experts, plus comprehensive training in solutions journalism techniques.
  • Mentorship and networking: Direct mentoring from experienced journalists and opportunities to connect with peers and industry leaders.
  • Seed funding: Up to €10,000 for a climate solutions reporting project tailored to your newsroom's needs.
  • In-person and online engagements: Most of the programme will take place virtually, but fellows will also participate in two in-person events, including the first in Brussels on December 2-3, 2024.
