DEADLINE: NPF "Understanding Why Public Health Matters" Fellowship

Event Date:
May 22, 2017

Chronic illness affects half of all Americans; it’s like a lifetime membership to a club no one wants to join. Over four days, journalists will learn the connection between chronic illness and social determinants such as housing, food security, livable wages and environmental quality. You’ll learn about the emergence of multi-sector partnerships; the role of innovation and technology in public health; the economic impact of health disparities; and how to find relevant data for your stories.

This four-day training program, Understanding Why Public Health Matters, will be held July 16-19, 2017 in Washington, D.C.

The all-expenses-paid fellowship covers airfare, ground transportation, hotel costs and most meals. NPF offers this professional development opportunity for journalists to enhance skills, increase knowledge and recharge their reporting on one of today’s most critical issues. This program is for U.S.-based journalists only.

Deadline to apply: Monday, May 22
