"Ariz. Wildfire Near Flagstaff Now at 10,000 Acres"

"FLAGSTAFF -- The incident commander for the Arizona wildfires says crews will fly over the biggest blaze today to get a better idea of the perimeter and of spot fires.

Some spot fires have jumped up to a half-mile ahead of the 10,000-acre blaze. Residents of about 750 homes remained under evacuation orders.

But fire crews battling the so-called Schultz fire that has threatened hundreds of homes in Flagstaff have made some progress.

Authorities declared the 10,000-acre wildfire 10 percent contained last night."

Felicia Fonseca reports for the Associated Press June 22, 2010.
