DEADLINE: Cross-Border Reporting on Climate Change Workshop
The East-West Center is excited to announce a second cross-border journalism workshop and collaborative reporting series, Cross-Border Reporting on Climate Change Workshop, January 7-13, 2024, in Kathmandu, Nepal for 10 Pakistani and 10 Indian journalists experienced in reporting on climate issues. Applications are due Monday, October 9, 2023.
Journalists from the two countries will work together as teams on a collaborative cross-border media story to be published or broadcast in both countries. In Kathmandu, expert US and Asian media workshop leaders will conduct sessions on best practices in reporting on climate change, cross-border collaboration techniques, data-based reporting and visualization, peace journalism principles, and other skills.
Upon return to home countries after the Kathmandu program, teams will continue to collaborate, complete their cross-border story, and have commitments for publication or broadcast in each country by April 14, 2024.
Members of the top two collaborative reporting teams will be invited to attend the 2024 East-West Center International Media Conference in Manila from June 23-26, 2024 and join a cross-border dialogue after the conference.
