"Police arrested Jane Fonda today [Friday] after she lent her celebrity to a demonstration on Capitol Hill demanding urgent action to battle climate change.
"There's so much noise in the news. We must make sure it stays front and center," Fonda said on the southeast lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
About an hour after the 11 a.m. demonstration started, Capitol Police arrested Fonda and 15 other demonstrators, charging them with "crowding, obstructing or incommoding," a police spokeswoman said."
