"Ten environmental groups today filed a long-anticipated lawsuit against the Trump administration for its rollout of the Affordable Clean Energy rule, a regulation they say skirts EPA's duty to address climate change under the Clean Air Act.
The petition — filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit — includes the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Environmental Defense Fund and others who say the replacement of the Obama-era Clean Power Plan with the less-stringent ACE guidelines will do more harm than good.
'We're going to court today to stop Trump from destroying the clean air laws we have to protect Americans' health and safety from the nation's biggest climate polluters,' NRDC lawyer David Doniger said in a statement."
