"Last summer, the Interior Department gave its bureaus 30 days to decide how they would streamline environmental reviews of energy production, infrastructure build-out and other major actions on public lands.
The Bureau of Land Management has moved aggressively on its list of priorities, which are listed in a Sept. 27, 2017, report obtained by E&E News under the Freedom of Information Act. Many more changes are still to come.
BLM officials developed a list of more than 100 actions to carry out the directives outlined in Secretarial Order 3355 and a March 2017 memorandum that followed the repeal of an Obama-era planning rule (Energywire, March 8, 2017). About half would take six months to one year, and most would be complete by 2019, BLM anticipated last fall."
