The Ambassadors' Summit: Climate and Conflict

This conference, taking place at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, aims to address the intersectionality of climate change and security. As a threat to national security, climate change acts as a threat multiplier, aggravating problems such as poverty, inflaming racial and social tensions, quickening environmental degradation, and further destabilizing states.

The conference will feature an ambassadors' panel, including former National Security Advisor General James L. Jones and the ambassadors of Barbados, Denmark, and Germany, and will be moderated by Dr. Kathleen Hicks, Senior VP at CSIS. We hope to discuss how to move beyond the Paris Climate Agreement.
