"NOAA Sued for ‘Stonewalling’ Over FOIA Requests"

"An environmental group is suing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for failing to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request about Freedom of Information Act requests.

In the lawsuit, Friends of the Earth alleges that NOAA has been “foot dragging and stonewalling.”

The environmental group had filed a FOIA request in September 2018, asking NOAA to explain how it handles FOIA requests. The group says NOAA was required by statute to make a determination by Oct. 6, 2018, but failed to do so."

Stephen Lee reports for Bloomberg Environment September 17, 2019.
