Methane: Enviros Prepare Lawsuit As EPA Freezes Oil And Gas Standards

"A coalition of environmental groups is mobilizing to challenge the Trump administration's recent effort to pause Obama-era restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions from the oil and gas industry.

U.S. EPA yesterday announced plans to grant a 90-day stay of upcoming compliance deadlines for core elements of the Obama administration's 2016 New Source Performance Standards for methane emissions from the industry. The agency will also kick off an official reconsideration of parts of the regulation.

Several environmental groups responded with pledges to take EPA to court as soon as Administrator Scott Pruitt's decision is published in the Federal Register — likely this week."
