"Lawmakers Release Environment, Energy Spending Bills"

"Appropriators on Sunday afternoon released text of six fiscal 2024 spending bills, including some of the most important on energy and the environment.

The package includes the Interior-EPA, Energy-Water, Agriculture, Commerce-Justice-Science, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs and Transportation-Housing and Urban Development bills.

The language shows a 10 percent cut for EPA, according to Republicans, and roughly level-spending for Interior at $14.7 billion. The Department of Energy would see a nearly $2 billion hike. One rider would prevent petroleum reserve sales to China.

The bills are expected to pass next week with broad bipartisan support. Conservatives in both chambers, however, are poised to balk."
