"Flood Insurance Lapse Averted With Hours to Spare"

"The House passed a last-minute bill Dec. 21 to extend the National Flood Insurance Program through May.

Lawmakers voted 315-to-48 to pass S. 3628 just hours before the program was set to expire.

The measure, which the Senate passed on a voice vote last month, would extend the expiration date of the program out to May 31, if signed by President Donald Trump. The White House had no immediate response."

David Schultz reports for Bloomberg Environment December 21, 2018.
