"EPA: Dems Probe Wheeler's Use Of Furloughed Staff"

"Senate Democrats are sounding the alarm that acting EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler may be tapping furloughed workers to help prepare for his confirmation hearing.

In a letter, four top Democrats on the Environment and Public Works Committee wrote that Wheeler may be breaking the law by directing resources toward his confirmation hearing during the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Signing the missive were Sens. Tom Carper of Delaware, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, and Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen of Maryland."

Maxine Joselow reports for Greenwire January 11, 2019.
