"Environmental Group Sues IBWC Over Withheld Info"

"An environmental advocacy group filed a lawsuit Monday against the U.S. section of the International Boundary and Water Commission, saying the federal agency tasked with managing the Rio Grande refused to release status reports, flood maps and plans.

The Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility said it submitted a public records request in August 2010 seeking information from the IBWC about Falcon and Amistad dams’ structural integrity, emergency action plan and flood-impact maps.

But a lawsuit drafted by the advocacy group says that not all the information it sought was disclosed by the federal agency."
