"Climate-Friendly Highway Bill Coming Before August Recess"

"The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee is on track to advance a surface transportation bill with climate change components before the end of the month.

That was the main takeaway of yesterday's hearing on the reauthorization of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which is set to expire in October 2020.

Both Republicans and Democrats on the panel expressed optimism about marking up a five-year reauthorization of the FAST Act before the August recess. That would happen at a meeting tentatively scheduled for Aug. 1."
