"Big Sioux, Mississippi Rivers Rising, And So Are Flood Fears"

"Akron, Ia. -- State officials warned Monday about the threat of flooding, particularly in the Big Sioux and Mississippi river basins.

Iowa National Guard Brig. Gen. Derek Hill urged residents to assemble flood preparation kits and make plans about where they'll go should flooding occur.

A lot of snow is melting this month north of Iowa, sending water downriver. In Iowa, a lot of the melting happened last month."

The Associated Press had the story March 22, 2011.
