Capital Gazette Murders: SEJ Responds

The Society of Environmental Journalists is devastated and saddened by the brutal murder of five Capital Gazette employees and the injuries of many others when a lone gunman opened fire Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Gazette's newsroom in Annapolis, Md. This heinous act, an apparent act of retaliation against the Gazette for reporting the news, is a reminder of the risks journalists face in doing their jobs every day. We are heartbroken for the families whose losses from this horrific act will change their lives forever.
