Weaving Our Stories: Women and Girls in Climate Communications

This year's UN NGO Conference on the Status of Women forum is focusing on climate change. On March 14, 2023 from 5:30-7:30 PM EST, the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center will be hosting a virtual side event titled "Weaving Our Stories: Women and Girls in Climate Communications." It will feature the storytelling work and art of Black women/girls in climate.

  • Wawa Gatheru (Black Girl Environmentalist)
  • Arielle King (environmental justice attorney, TikTok creator)
  • Shelot Masithi (She4Earth, South African organization featuring the UBUNTU Climate Storytelling project with Climate Illustrated)
  • Maya Penn (Maya's Ideas, film-maker/storyteller/educator)
