NPF Webinar: Climate Change – What’s Next?

Event Date:
June 20, 2017

National Press Foundation Live Webinar:

Tuesday, June 20, 2:30 p.m. EDT/6:30 GMT

The Trump administration says it is pulling out of the Paris climate accord, scuttling years of negotiation. President Donald Trump calls the agreement a threat to the economy and American sovereignty; environmentalists and scientists call it a necessary step to help mitigate the effects of climate change.

What does the decision mean for states, cities and industries already working to address a warming planet? What can states do to address climate change locally – and what are some states already doing? Will the decision have an impact on the growth of new sources of renewable power? We’ll talk these issues over and take viewer questions via Twitter @NatPress and Facebook.

Speaker: Vicki Arroyo, executive director of the Georgetown Climate Center at Georgetown Law.
