ICCA Territories of Life: 2021 Report

The ICCA Consortium, the global association for territories of life, warmly invites you to a virtual press conference on our forthcoming publication: “Territories of Life: 2021 Report”.
 
This report, which will be made public on May 20, adds to the growing evidence and recognition of Indigenous peoples and local communities as central to local-to-global efforts to sustain a healthy planet. It identifies key opportunities and recommendations for action over the coming decade, all of which should be addressed in the post-2020 global biodiversity currently under negotiation by Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
 
These key findings are drawn from 17 examples of territories and areas conserved by Indigenous peoples and local communities around the world, six case studies of national and sub-regional contexts, and the most up-to-date global spatial analysis of how much of the planet is likely conserved by Indigenous peoples and local communities.
