How Vicious Disinformation Campaigns Aim to Silence Women Journalists

New research by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) for UNESCO reveals how online violence against women journalists is used to spread disinformation, undercut fact-based journalism and silence independent voices. No one knows this better than Filipino-American journalist Maria Ressa, who has experienced an onslaught of orchestrated online violence — from misogynistic attacks to death threats.
