Double Exposure: Investigative Film Festival
Double Exposure returns to Washington DC, October 19-22, 2017 celebrating the intersection of film and journalism through a film program and concurrent symposium where journalists, visual storytellers and industry leaders interact and engage in an exchange of ideas, resources, and best practices.
This year's symposium lineup explores the challenges and opportunities of investigative storytelling in the pursuit of truth and accountability, introduces peers venturing into exciting new forms of storytelling, and connects practitioners with funders who can advance projects in concrete ways.
The program features:
- Urgent and compelling conversations with luminaries of film and journalism;
- Hands-on workshops with partners such as Doc Society (formerly BRITDOC) and the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting;
- DX Access: pre-arranged one-on-one meetings with industry insiders;
- Pro Bono Legal Clinic: meetings with lawyers on hand to provide advice to filmmakers and journalists.
Speakers include directors Brian Knappenberger, Bryan Fogel, Ryan White, Kat Cizek, Sonia Kennebeck, journalists Jane Mayer, Charles Lewis, Ted Conover, Suki Kim and more. Take a look at the full lineup of speakers and topics at this year's symposium.
At this pivotal moment of hostility toward a free press in America and across the globe, Double Exposure is building on the solid foundation established in its first two years to celebrate and support your work and to advance investigative storytelling everywhere.
