DEADLINE: Solutions Journalism Network's Climate Cohort

Event Date:
February 5, 2024

This year, Solutions Journalism Network is offering 20 fellowships to U.S.-based journalists who want to produce climate solutions stories that shift the climate conversation from unsolvable and apocalyptic to actionable and engaging. Journalists in the second annual Climate Solutions Cohort will be contributing to a community of practice that is bringing climate solutions journalism into the mainstream of environmental reporting. We’re looking for journalists (both staff and freelance) committed to reporting on solutions to the climate crisis that are grounded in environmental justice and engage frontline and historically marginalized communities. The program will run March through November 2024. You can read insights from last year's fellows here.

This fellowship is virtual (you can live and work anywhere in the U.S.) and comes with a $3,000 stipend. Freelance journalists and those working full-time for publications are welcome to apply, and we welcome journalists working in any medium.

To apply, fill out the brief application form by 5 p.m. PT on Monday, February 5, 2024. If you want more information about the fellowship or have any questions, please join us for an “ask me anything” session at 11 am PT on Tuesday, January 16. Register here. If you have any additional questions please reach out to Climate Network Manager Angela K. Evans at angela@solutionsjournalism.org.
