DEADLINE: Canadian Hillman Prize

Event Date:
January 15, 2025

The Sidney Hillman Foundation awards the Canadian Hillman Prize honors excellence in journalism in service of the common good. The Hillman Prizes seek out investigative reporting that draws attention to social or economic injustice and leads to meaningful public policy change. We strive to recognize discernment of a significant news story, resourcefulness and courage in reporting, skill in relating the story and the impact of the coverage.

Starting in 2024, the foundation now awards three Canadian Hillman Prizes instead of one. The judges will select entries in the following categories: print/digital, broadcast (tv, radio, podcast) and local/community news. Entries must have been published in Canada in 2024 and have been widely accessible to a Canadian audience. Self-published work is not eligible. No entry fee. Deadline: Jan 15, 2025.

The Canadian Hillman Prize winners will be awarded an honorarium and a certificate at our event to be held in Toronto on Thursday April 3, 2025.
