DEADLINE: Big Sky International Documentary Pitch Session
In addition to ten days of screenings, public and VIP events and receptions, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Feb 19-28, 2016 will feature the Big Sky DocShop, a five-day filmmaking conference with panel discussions, workshops and pitch sessions.
IN 2016 WE ARE FOCUSING ON FILMS FOR CHANGE.
The 2016 DocShop will focus on media activism and documentary film as a catalyst for positive change. Filmmakers, media artists, activists and representatives from nonprofits will discuss strategic plans for using a variety of platforms and media to produce impactful campaigns that shape our world.
Pitch your documentary work-in-progress to some of the top commissioning editors and funders for documentary film in North America. All documentary forms and all subjects are eligible to submit. There is a $45 submission fee. The session will be held Thurs, Feb 25, 2016 at the UC Theater in Missoula, Montana with a live audience of filmmakers, industry representatives, and students. Commissioning editors will have the opportunity to critique and comment on each pitch. A maximum of 15 projects will be accepted to pitch in this session. Selected projects will have 8 minutes to pitch their project and show a sample, if available, for the panel. Selected projects will be required to pay an additional $100 to participate, and will be notified of their acceptance by January 8, 2016.
