"Report: NY Landfill's Coal Ash Is Contaminating Groundwater" [7]

"Coal ash sitting dormant in an unlined portion of the landfill near the Cayuga Power Plant has been seeping into groundwater for nearly 30 years and has flowed into nearby Milliken Creek, potentially contaminating drinking water, a geologist said in a meeting with Tompkins County officials Wednesday afternoon."

DEADLINE: Fellowship for Columbia University's MPA in Environmental Science and Policy [17]

The Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy at Columbia University in New York City offers the Dean’s Environmental Science and Policy Fellowship, a full tuition grant worth approximately $72,000. Apply to the program by Jan. 15, 2016, to be eligible for the Fellowship. Early decision deadline is Nov. 1, 2015.

DEADLINE: Metcalf Seminar "Climate Change and the News: Planning for Sea Level Rise & Extreme Weather" [24]

As policy discussions heat up in advance of the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in December, journalists are invited to apply for a free seminar exploring U.S. responses to coastal climate change impacts.
