"Storm Nate: Gov. John Bel Edwards Expects 'Direct Hit' In Louisiana" [1]

"Gov. John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency in Louisiana in anticipation of  Tropical Storm Nate Thursday. The governor said he intends to ask President Donald Trump to make a federal disaster declaration ahead of Nate's arrival.

The governor said southeast Louisiana should prepare for a "direct hit" from Nate, possibly as a strong tropical storm or Category 1 hurricane. Forecasts call for the storm to strengthen once it moves into the Gulf of Mexico."

Julia O'Donoghue reports for the New Orleans Times-Picayune October 5, 2017. [2]
