"Missouri's Fenced Deer Farms Are Under Fire as State Battles Disease [1]

The discovery of chronic wasting disease in captive deer in Missouri has put the keeping of deer under fire.

"Garrett Westfall has some impressive bucks living just out his backdoor in rural Liberty, Mo.

But when Missouri's firearms deer season took place in November, he traveled more than 100 miles to hunt.

Why? Those deer in his backyard are off-limits. They are part of the deer farm that he runs with his wife, Kelly."

Brent Frazee reports for the Kansas City Star December 11, 2013. [2]
