"Invasive Snails Pose Threat To Great Lakes Waterfowl" [1]

"WATERTOWN, N.Y. — An invasive snail in the Great Lakes may pose a larger threat to waterfowl than previously thought.

New research has found faucet snails are more numerous than earlier estimates had determined, including populations in lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

The invasive species can carry intestinal parasites that harm or kill ducks and other waterfowl."

The Associated Press had the story January 20, 2015. [2]
