Human activity is fraying the interdependent, biological webs that support all life. Can we reverse course? During Part I of the United Nations' Convention on Biological Diversity [2] (CBD), SEJ and the UN Foundation are bringing together biodiversity experts and journalists to discuss what to watch for as the international science community seeks to protect — and maybe even repair — our damaged ecosystems as the climate changes. Against the backdrop of the international 30x30 Initiative [3], the ongoing struggle of Indigenous peoples to protect their homelands and rapidly increasing species extinction, we have to ask: what next?
This webinar is the third in a series providing journalists with background, tools and tips on covering the latest in climate change science and its connections to other global priorities. Join us on October 13 from 3-4PM ET for an introduction to the latest in biodiversity.
Also: SEJ is exploring launching a peer-to-peer support network for reporters covering biodiversity. Are you a journalist interested in learning more? Sign up for more information [4].
