"EPA Watchdog Blasts Pruitt Proposal On High-Emissions Trucks"

"EPA's internal watchdog today delivered a scathing rebuke of former EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt's proposal to exempt high-emissions trucks from Clean Air Act requirements.

In a highly anticipated report, EPA's Office of Inspector General found that the agency under Pruitt tried to fast-track the proposal without complying with long-standing executive orders.

'The EPA did not comply with requirements of EOs 12866 and 13045 when developing and issuing the proposed Glider Repeal Rule,' says the report by acting Inspector General Charles Sheehan.

As such, the report concludes, 'EPA failed to develop required cost and benefit analyses and to assess air quality impacts on children's health.'"
