"71 Republicans Help Pass A Climate Adaptation Bill"

"A bill approved by the House of Representatives could improve the nation's disaster-resilience by requiring communities to use stronger building codes when they spend federal funds to restore damaged structures.

With help from Republicans, the House passed a bill Monday night that marks Congress' latest effort to make government agencies account for climate change as they spend federal taxpayer money on disaster rebuilding.

The move comes as skyrocketing disaster costs prompt Congress and the Trump administration to demand increased resilience in disaster-damaged structures such as homes, infrastructure and military bases."
